JTV and Justopia Milestones with Pie Pictures

Again

I am prompted to write about JTV and the announcement of all time high viewer counts — again. I worked late tonight, so there was no cooking and no food photos. Instead, let’s chat about the 101,000 simultaneous viewers on JTV. This is the blog post that communicated the milestone. What I found most interesting were some of the comments. There are complaints of a sluggish network and comments about how the removal of the Channel Bar is the sole reason for the spike in viewership.

Justopian Visitors and a Brief Recipe

Jane and Emily

Em admitted to being a ham

I had visitors for dinner tonight. Real live people, in the flesh, to join me in cooking, dining, cleaning and just generally having fun. My sister, Jane, my niece, Emily and I made a simple, yet DEElicious dinner. Steak, Potatoes, Soy-Dipped Radishes and Steamed Broccoli.

Back to the Food and Tomorrow’s Justopia.com Visitor Reminder!

Cookies!

Rather than cooking dinner last night, I baked cookies. I forgot to bring my lunch to work with me, so I came home to a DEElicious dinner of the leftover slow cooked lamb shank, Israeli couscous and cauliflower with bread crumbs and decided that I’d make some Chocolate Dipped Macaroons. They are very easy and wow, did they come out great! I adapted the recipe from a Sunset Cookies cookbook which I picked up in 1984. I think this was the cookbook I used to go to for Oatmeal Lace cookies. Next up! 🙂

More Television and a Different Kind of Muse

What’s Next You Ask and Where’s the Food?!

Just when it seemed as though no spectacle could top the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, in less than 24 hours we have the Democratic Convention to draw our attention. No matter whom you favor for president, the conventions are likely to provide you with something riveting to watch each night. I don’t remember a convention being right smack on the heels of the Olympics in the past, but I’m happy the timing has turned out this way because I need something fun to watch in the wake of the Olympics.

A Dream Lives on Forever

Opening the Show

Opening the Show with "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band"

For 33 years now I’ve been a devoted Todd Rundgren fan and recently, when a coworker told me Todd was playing at Wolf Trap, just a few miles down the road in a beautiful outdoor venue, I got right on it. I only have one friend that is a Todd fan around here and when I let her know he was coming to town she was in.

Another DEElicious Dinner with Justopia! Piping hot chicken and pasta

I just sent out a Tweet that I’ve created the recipe for the Whole Foods Market, Food Blogger Budget Recipe Challenge! I will work on refining it this weekend so that I can submit it before the deadline. I re-read the contest rules again and it looks like they are contacting food bloggers to request them to submit recipes, but that the food blogging community is encouraged to talk it up and get others to submit as well.
