Enchiladas — Shrimp and Chicken, Beans with Ham and Orange-Fennel Salad with Pomegranate

Have you ever produced a television show? I mean from scratch, in your own home, no help in residence, no writers, no production assistants, no key grips (whatever they are) no sound technicians, no craft table, no wardrobe or make-up for crying out loud?! I mean the whole thing from beginning to end, with just one very helpful, hard-working, highly skilled developer, off site producer, cameraman, idea-generator, image consultant and extremely knowledgeable person all wrapped up into one, thousands of miles away helping to pull the whole thing off and keeping me on track — night after night?

Yeah, probably not. I mean, who in their right mind would attempt this, right? And then there’s a job and a blog and the normal day to day life tasks to attend to. Just writing all of this down tired me out. I need a nap now!

I need a new way to attack all of this so that it does not get the best of me. I’m working on the proper balance, but so far, seeing as it’s currently 1:54am, I apparently have not achieved success! πŸ™‚

New Features

A couple of cool new features were rolled out on JTV tonight. Although they are not helpful to me on Justopia.com, they are cool and appeal to JTV fans. One is the username color changer (for lack of a better term). I’m not sure what gets people so worked up about their username color, but this has been an issue with chatters since the very beginning of time … or the beginning of JTV (and hell, wasn’t that the beginning of time?!). I am wondering what people will ask for now that they can choose their color. I suppose there will be those that can’t find a color that lives up to their expectations. All in due time, all in due time.

The Invite feature that launched this evening is neato. Yes! I said neato. How often to you hear that term? I’d say NEVER, or at least not since 1973. I like the word and want to bring it back. Anyway, the invite feature is available to users to invite the people on their Friends list to the channel they are currently watching. Kyle came into the room and let us know about it as I was getting started this evening so I went over to JTV, put in the /invite command and watched as people came over to the broadcast. Of course, they were not in Justopia.com, so it only got them 1/2 way there, but once in the room we could tell them to come on over to Justopia so that they could see all the cooking, have the fun emoticons, private message, receive the audio and video pushes and more. I know I keep pushing Justopia.com, but here’s the deal … people that don’t come to Justopia don’t understand why they can not see my cooking most of the time and don’t understand what the talk about the emoticons and other Justopia.com features are.

Orange, Fennel, Onion, Pomegranate Salad topped with Toasted Pine Nuts

Without being in Justopia, you are missing the view of the cooking that goes on at the stove for one thing. It’s an integral part of the broadcast. Some have questioned why I have a cooking channel if I don’t show any cooking. That is a perfect question to let us know that they are not in Justopia.com. πŸ™‚ Once one of us sees this question, we can let them know what is going on and have them come over for the fully interactive fun.

It’s like evangelizing — one user at a time. πŸ™‚

  1. I’m on the “neato” bandwagon right there with ya……I say it all the time and people look at me as if I am inasne, but I think it’s NEATO! =)

    You are a one woman storm online and I respect the hell out of you for doing all that you do. Keep up the awesome work!

    KiKi =)

  2. Thanks Kiki!

    It’s not easy, but feels so good when it’s all done. A real accomplishment each day. Actually — accomplishment–S — each day! It truly is neato!! πŸ™‚
